Cesar Pulgarin

Cesar Pulgarin, EPFL, Switzerland

Prof. Pulgarin is head of the Advanced Oxidation Processes Group at the Ecole Polytechnique Federale de Lausanne, where he has been working on electrochemical, photochemical, ultrasonic, UV/H2O2 systems and their combinations for pollutants degradation and bacteria inactivation. During the past years, he has also been exploring the preparation of bactericide films active in the dark and under light. He wrote with G. Rincon the first paper demonstrating the bactericidal impact of neutral photo-Fenton process, while he is one of the most cited authors in the fields of photocatalytic disinfection and photochemical-biological process integration for pollutants decontamination.
