Panagiotis Lianos

Panagiotis Lianos, University of Patras, Greece

Prof. Lianos is a staff member of the Department of Chemical Engineering, University of Patras and collaborating faculty member of FORTH/ICE-HT. He has obtained his bachelor’s degree in Physics from the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki, Greece, and his Doctor’s degree from the Physics Dept. of the University of Tennessee, Knoxville, Tenn., USA (1978). He was a post-doctoral researcher in the Faculte de Pharmacie and the Centre de Recherches sur les Macromolecules (Institut CharlesSadron) of the Universite Louis Pasteur, Strasbourg, France (1978-1982), a lecturer in the Dept. of Physics, University of Crete, Heraklion, Greece (1982-1984) and since 1984 is a staff member of the University of Patras. His research interests expand over a broad range of interrelated fields including colloids, water soluble and conjugated polymers, light absorption, emission and amplification, fluorescence probing of organized molecular assemblies and block copolymers, organic light emitting diodes, semiconductor photocatalysis, photoactivated fuel cells and mesoscopic organic-inorganic solar cells. His most recent research is related with the last three fields.
